Characteristics of Sucess

I recently presented at the ASIS Women in Leadership Symposium, and had the opportunity to meet some very interesting woman. All of these women were the picture of success! I noticed a few commonalities amongst these woman, and I thought I would take a moment to share with you some of the characteristics I believe make these women successful.

Vision

Successful leaders have vision, and the women at ASIS were full of vision. Not only did I notice a particular vision with regard to themselves, I noticed a keen and precise vision these women for their business. They align their goals with their values and work towards them consistently.

Communication

One of the main commonalities that all of these ladies had was excellent communication skills. It is important for all leaders to have effective communication and to be exceptional listeners. They must truly hear what’s being said to them and respond in a suitable manner to successful lead their teams. Of all the women I spoke to that I day, their ability to communicate their thoughts and ideas was consistently excellent. They shared information in a clear and articulate manner, leaving no room for misunderstandings or cinfusion. This was truly impressive!

Strength of Character

Talk about character ! I was amazed at the strength of character that these ladies showed when discussing their goals and visions. The integrity and sincerity that came from each of them was inspiring and showed me, yet again, how important it is to remain true to our values as we grow our success. Many people lose sight of what they truly believe in as they climb the success ladder, I believe that each one of the women I spoke to at ASIS showed an exceptional attachment to what they valued and in turn, incorporated that into their vision of success.

It is not often that I get to spend a day with so many intelligent and strong women. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to not only attend this symposium, but that I was asked to share some of my own visions with the group. It was such an honor to be able to share my own thoughts and values with such an amazng group of people, and I learned so much about what  leadership SHOULD look like, and how to instill this vision in the minds of my clients.

Thank you again ASIS for having me and I look forward to joining you again !
