How to Achieve Success as YOU Define It

The number one rule of success is this: Success looks differently to everyone!

Your neighbor’s definition of success could be a reliable job and a giant family, while you may see success as an exciting career and unlimited time to travel. In order to achieve success, you must first discover what it looks like for YOU.

Begin by assessing the important components of your life, including career, relationships, family, health and finances. What is working? What is not working? Where are you falling short? What would you like to change? What would each aspect look like in your ideal world? Write down your answers on a piece of paper.

And now the magic question: What is the FIRST step toward achieving the change you desire?

This first step can be anything. Don’t worry if it seems small or insignificant, all that matters is that it is a step in the right direction. For example, if you desire a healthier lifestyle, your first step can be compiling a list of restaurants with healthy lunch choices and committing to eating lunch at one of those options once a week. Once that change is a habit, implement another, like swapping one diet soda a day for water.
